Who moves here
Most of the buyers I work with in the area are newly married couples, couples expecting a child and families with school-age children. What they share is the wish for a calm life away from the crowds of the city.
The commute
Many residents work in Maslak, Levent and Etiler; more and more work from home. Journey time varies a great deal with the hour. Before viewing a home, I suggest you try the road once at your own commuting time.
Shuttles and the metro
Some estates run a shuttle to Hacıosman metro. Ask the estate management about the timetable and whether it is included in the service charge; the listing text may be out of date.
Schools
For most families the choice of school comes before the choice of home. Find out from the school and the neighbours whether the school bus enters the estate and how long the morning run takes. We go through it estate by estate.
Winter
When it snows, an estate whose road is cleared first and one that sits on a slope do not live the same winter. Winter tyres, a generator and the estate's snow plan are worth asking about. I live here; I tell you what I see.
Last word
The area does not suit everyone. It is the right place for those who want calm, a garden and estate life; those who want to be in the city every evening should factor in the road.
